Heavy Duty systems
Diesel vehicles that exceed 3,5 tons have different homologation procedures; only the engine is tested and homologated by using a “Full Flow” system.
The full flow system includes a dilution tunnel of a suitable capacity and with diameters calculated on the maximum level of gas emitted by the engine, adding in the segment of dilution which is to be used.
These systems are equipped with a system which constantly analyzes the hydrocarbons and nitric oxide, as well as a system for collecting CO and CO2 into bags.
The legislation allows constant analysis of these parameters without the use of bags, by performing analytical data processing with a frequency of 10 Hz.
The “Full Flow” tunnel is also equipped with a particulate measuring system as well as a second tunnel known as the “double dilution tunnel” in order to comply as closely as possible with the legislation that impose a maximum particulate measuring temperature at the ends of the collection filters.
